Abstract

abstract
Introduction: COVID-19 is one of the challenges in health system and taking actions to improve home care can help control the pandemic. This research was conducted to describe the benefits of tele-nursing in the COVID-19 epidemic from the perspective of nurses.
Methods: This was a qualitative descriptive study. Participants were 14 tele-nurses. Six individual interviews and two focus group interviews were conducted from June to August in 2020. The semi-structured interviews lasted 30 to 45 minutes. The Graneheim and Lundman approach were used to analyze the data.
Results: Data analysis led to the extraction of three categories which include effective care (facilitating indirect care, workload reduction and cost-effective care), private care (protecting the human dignity, confidential care) and community-based care (individual care, epidemic control, easy access care and family support).
Conclusion: Tele-nursing can help in providing the effective nursing care, community-based care and private care. This strategy is based on the patient's needs thus it is recommended as a complementary program for home care in COVID-19 crisis and preventing the spread of diseases
