Abstract
One of the fundamental advancements in qualitative research is the introduction of the Consolidated Criteria for Reporting Qualitative Research (COREQ) checklist, designed to enhance transparency and accuracy in reporting qualitative studies. Despite these strengths, the COREQ checklist is not without its weaknesses. One major criticism that can be leveled against this checklist is the potential for selection bias when it is used for qualitative studies. it can be said that, considering the various evidence surrounding the selection bias related to the COREQ checklist, it is crucial for researchers to adopt an innovative and flexible approach when using the framework. Awareness of the potential limitations imposed by strict adherence to the checklist criteria is essential, encouraging researchers to incorporate flexibility into their qualitative methodologies. Encouraging exploration of diverse perspectives from participants and going beyond conventional boundaries in qualitative frameworks can lead to richer and more nuanced findings. Furthermore, the future development of the COREQ checklist should emphasize comprehensiveness and diversity in participant selection as a fundamental element of qualitative research.
